Prof. Predrag Nikic, PhD has been awarded by the President of India Pranab Mukherjee with Padma Shri award for contribution in the field of yoga. President Pranab Mukherjee honoured 56 eminent personalities with Padma awards at the Civil Investiture Ceremony held on 28th March 2016 at Rashtrapati Bhavan, in the presence of the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, ministers, diplomats and distinguished guests.
Prof. Predrag Nikic, PhD is the President of the General Assembly of the Yoga Federation of Europe. He is a founder and Honorary President of the Yoga Federation of Serbia and International Society for Scientific Interdisciplinary Yoga Research. He has been serving as a Professor at the International Yoga Academy and University professor for years. He is founder and Editor-In-Chief of the International Scientific Yoga Journal SENSE.
He devoted a years of his work to the affirmation of yoga as a discipline of self-development, yoga as a sport branch, yoga as a form of traditional medicine, yoga as a form of counseling for personal development and to promoting the academic approach to yoga.
He initiated foundation of the International Yoga Academy in Europe, seated in Vienna and Prague, contributing to the promotion of the academic approach to yoga. He practices yoga for decades and educates young Yoga Teachers. He started International Interdisciplinary Scientific Yoga Conference and International Yoga Festival and initiated series of Yoga Performances that took place at central squares of European capitals. Prof. Predrag Nikić obtained his PhD in Serbia in 2008. He developed the Concept of Yoga Intelligence. He conducted his first postdoctoral research in the field of Yoga Intelligence in 2013 at the Institute Patanjđali, Haridwar, India and second, during 2014-15 at the University Vivekananda, Bangalore, India.
Prof. Predrag K. Nikić is author and implementer of the Yoga Teacher Training Program in the Yoga Federation of Europe.
He is a member of the scientific boards of the most prestigious conferences on yoga in the world and he is a frequent visit lecturer in the field of yoga at the Universities across Europe. His students are appreciated experts in the field of yoga worldwide.
